Dorothy Atake is a Partner. She was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1992. She specializes in Energy and Natural Resources, Foreign Investment and Governmental Relations and Environmental Issues. Before joining the Law Firm, she had a brilliant career in Ashland/Addax Petroleum Nigeria Limited, an international oil and gas production and exploration company for a period of over 30 years. Addax Petroleum is a subsidiary of the Sinopec Group since August 2009. Sinopec Group is one of the largest oil and gas producers in China, the biggest oil refiner in Asia and the third largest worldwide. Dorothy held several positions in Addax Petroleum that included General Manager, Human Resources and Administrative Services, Community Relations, Security and External & Government Affairs. She was the first female General Manager in Addax Petroleum and also the first female Executive Director in four of Addax Petroleum’s subsidiary companies. During her extensive career in Addax Petroleum, Dorothy managed and worked with people of diverse interests and backgrounds whilst acquiring a wide range of networks with government officials in the Oil and Gas industry in Nigeria. She held lead team roles in the negotiation of several major upstream contracts and secured several governments approvals/permits critical for the company operations.
